Your BRAND ADVANTAGE
Turn your brand message into clear, confident, everyday language
your team can use to start valuable business conversations.
Most businesses work hard to clarify how they look and sound in their marketing. They invest in websites, logos, videos, and brand messaging.
But there is often one missing piece: The people inside the business may not know how to say the brand message out loud.
So when someone asks a simple question like, "What do you do?" the answer may sound generic, unclear, or forgettable. That creates a gap between the brand you are building and the conversations people are actually having.
Your employees represent your business wherever they go.
A vague or inaccurate answer can quietly cost you an opportunity.
Every team member should be able to explain what your company does.
Clear messaging builds confidence, consistency, and referrals.
Imagine a member of your team is sitting at her son’s baseball game. The parent beside her asks, “Where do you work?” She names your company.
He leans in. “I’ve heard of them. What exactly do you do?”
She hesitates. "I’m in accounting, so I don’t really know. We do several things. I think the company is still trying to figure some of it out.”
The conversation moves on. She never realizes that the person beside her is part of a company your sales team has been trying to reach.
A few weeks later, your salesperson finally gets a meeting.
Before the presentation begins, the prospect says, “I recently spoke with someone who works for you. I think I have a pretty good idea of where the company stands.”
The opportunity is already gone. Your employee did not intentionally mean to hurt your business. She simply could not explain your business in a clear, confident way because you failed to give her the language.
The same employee, same game, same question.
She names your company and adds, "We guide manufacturers through a highly specialized process that helps them reduce delays and complete complex projects more efficiently. I work in accounting, but I’m proud of the difference our team makes for our clients.”
The other parent pauses. "That’s interesting. We have been struggling with something very similar.”
One ordinary Saturday conversation becomes the beginning of a valuable business relationship. No sales pitch needed. The accountant simply offered to make an introduction because she knew how to describe what your company does clearly and confidently.
Can the people representing your business clearly answer these questions without hesitation?
What do we do in a way that creates curiosity?
Who do we serve best?
What makes us different from similar businesses?
What kinds of opportunities or introductions are most valuable?
How do we talk about the business without sounding generic?
Can we explain the business naturally, without sounding scripted?
Would I feel confident hearing my team describe the business?
If you hesitated on any of these, your brand message might be getting lost in translation. Let's fix that.
